Sanctuary

 

We were given brief to create a piece of art based on the word sanctuary. I decided to create a hanging chair, a place of quiet and peace where someone cant sit, feeling enclosed and protected while they float feeling tranquil.

I made my hanging chair from willow withes a natural product which would create the correct look as sanctuary also mean a place of nature.

 

I then create a willow withes hut with a functional door from my left over withes it was small but affective. The sculpture created a sense of protection and acted as barrrier agaisnt the outside, therefore a sanctuary, a place of refuge.
