Design and make
Ed gein was an American murderer and body snatcher during the 1950s. He was an influence for many fictional characters including Norman Bates, Leatherface and Buffalo bill. I decided to design a mask which Ed Gein himself may have made from his dugg up victims and enjoyed to wear in his home. I experimented with face casting, plaster casting, latex,silicon and different paint finishes which resulted in orange solvent,silicon pigments and down corning mixed together to create the best paint for the silicon mask. I also made a punch needle and hair punch my entire mask.
Latex and pigment-experimenting to see if i wanted the skin looking dead and rotton as if it had been cut of an old corpse or skin from a fresh corpse so it looks attractive and inviting.
