Half Life Sculpt
A twelve week project to create a half life sculpture from a female life model.
I scultped in grey clay and moulded in a three part plaster waste mould. I then cast in cement using the sqeeze mould.
once the cast was dry, i carefully chipped away the plaster mould to reveal the cement cast which i cleaned and polished and prepared for finishing.
I decided to paint the finish as weathered and mouldly. I wanted to display the sculpture outside and wanted to encourage and exaggerate the natural outdoor effects.
My clay sculpt ready for plaster moulding. I decided to keep my sculpt marking in my sculpture, i enjoyed the raw, natural look the sculpture conveyed.
